Sounds Clear is a unique company which employs Specialists in Deaf Education, to provide hearing support to seniors in retirement communities. As Hearing Enrichment Specialists, our employees will assist you in making good use of the personal hearing aids that you already have.

In addition to personal hearing aid support, Sounds Clear enriches the hearing environment within the retirement homes, themselves. "People become withdrawn and frustrated when they lose their ability to understand what others are saying to them. By improving their listening environment and enabling them to better hear what is being said, Sounds Clear is helping seniors to become active listeners and engaged participants in their communities... communication is a very important aspect of healthy living. When we lose our ability to communicate effectively, we can lose our zest for life. We can lose our interest in being a part of our community," states Mrs. Thornley.
Upcoming Projects
Sounds Clear will be undertaking a pilot project to address the unique needs of the hearing impaired within the seniors' community. The project is scheduled to begin in the Summer of 2010, at a soon to be announced retirement facility. This pilot project will culminate a year of market research in which Sounds Clear studied and assessed the needs of hearing impaired seniors within their specific environments. We are excited to bring this progressive and proactive approach to retirement communities in the Barrie and surrounding areas.
